Bizarro Subway. Ben Kabak posted this photo, via the Star-Ledger, of the Gotham City subway map used as set dressing for the latest Batman movie, which filmed in Newark last week. It looks like the real deal from far away, until you notice all those little islands. And the art director on the film must have a sense of humor — would you like to live by the Wilco Bus Terminal? Off the Hermes stop? Or off the A, after Oxford St., where it looks to me like a NSFW word (rhymes with “jock”)? There are also a few New York-inspired names — Liberty Ave., West 4th, Utica Hts., Cadman Plaza. As Kabak points out, the Gotham version of Staten Island seems to have better access than the real Shaolin. Another way to show that this is fake.
